If your next assignment includes a stint in one of the more dangerouse parts of the workd, you many want to consider changing both your wardrobe and means of transportation - for something a little more secure.
In today's cross-border world, people visit and live in places that are often not as secure as they would prefer. Business, diplomacy and charity work often draws people todangerous areas. Enter Miguel Callallero, the world's only producer of "desinger bullet-proof fashion". While at university in Columbia, Caballero notices many of this calssmates were wearing bullet-proof jackets and an idea was born. Caballero's fashion line is now sold in 16 countries and he has some very prestigious clients, including King Abduyllah of Jordan, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, actor Stephen Segal and U.S. President Barack Obama. You can find his line at upscale stores like Harrod's which carry Caballero's protective range of blazers, raincoats, polo shirts and leather jackets. There are even polo shirts that can take the impact of a 9mm relovler! Different version of protection are available which range from knife protection to automatic weapon fire. Prices start at £4,300 versus the cost of a standard bullet-proof vest at £3,800. However, the real beauty of Caballero's clothing is that no one whould know you are protected from just looking at you.
After fitting your new clothes, make sure you have secure transportation. BMW has a range of vehicles designed to protect the occupants. The BMW X5 Security Plus is the first vehicle produced by a high-volume manufacturer to offer a security concept aimed at lessening the danger of attacks using the world's most widely used handgun of the type AK47. The security concept for the BMW X5 Security Plus focused on it's armoured passenger cabin. It guarantees protection from the use of high-performance steel moulded componets and panels. The body features sealed joints providing proecttion in critical areas such as between doors and frames as well as fragment penetration, as well as security glass conceived exclusively for this bullet resistance class. Furthermore, the windows resist attach from clubs, crowbars, etc and feature a polycarbonate coating that protects the interior from glass shatter. The standard security feaures of the BMW X5 Security Plus include, in addition to the effective armour plating, distinctive technical attriburtes that provide assistance in dealing with hazardous situations. An intercom system facilitates communication with persons outside the vehicle, without having to open doors or windows. The hold-up alarmensures that windows and doors lock automatically. Optional features include a rear view camera which transmits its images to the control display of the iDrive operating system located on the dashboard, providing assistance during reversing. These vehicles are made for performance both on the road and in off-road terrain, with 4 wheel drive capability. Again, even to the practiced eye, these armoured vehicles built by BMW can hardly be distinguished from corresponding production models. And if all this is not enough for the security minded, how about a bullet-proof handkerchief for the evening jacket? The Bullet-Proof Gentlemen's Pocket Square measures 270mm x 270 mm and is made from military grade ballistic protective aramid to proect your heart. While the though of owning bullt-proof cars and clothing is not first in mind, if you are routinely in places where you could easily get caught in the cross-fire or could be a disred target for kidnappers, living an armoured lifstyle is something to seriously consider.
