In addition to her work as Founding Director of Benjamin Franklin House, Márcia is Director of Corporate Responsibility for global media group Reed Elsevier. She has previously served as Advisor to the American Chamber of Commerce in Britain and the documentary film project 50Lessons. She is a member of the steering group for the Media Corporate Social Responsibility Forum (UK) and the United Nations Global Compact (UK). She has recently been chosen as one of 28 international women to feature in a book and exhibition for the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas (FAWCO), a UN-recognised NGO. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Economic History from the London School of Economics. She was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s 2007 Birthday Honours List. |
